Family Medicine Residency
Welcome
A letter from Program Director Brintha Vasagar, MD, MPH, FAAFP
Welcome to the Bayhealth Family Medicine Residency Program! When we first discussed starting a residency program, we asked ourselves what resident experiences would shape the type of physician we admire.
It is with that in mind that our program focuses on innovative programming to prepare family medicine physicians to meet the challenges of the future...
Meet Dr. Vasagar
Unique Programming
Leadership & Advocacy
As a resident at Bayhealth, you have the unique opportunity to be the best possible advocates for your patients and leaders in the community. In an underserved community, you will make an impact on patients’ lives and community health even in your first year of the program.
You Shape the Program
Unlike most residency programs, when you join the inaugural class of residents, you’ll have a chance to mold and influence patient care for years to come. Working hand in hand with faculty, you will create a legacy that will be valued by the community for generations.
5 Months of Electives
Compared to other programs, we pride ourselves on our extensive time spent in electives. We understand giving you the time and freedom to explore and create your path is incredibly important. Your passion will drive your program and your career.
A Focus on Wellness
With a focus on wellness as a core philosophy of the residency program, you can focus on growing and developing into an expert in patient care.
Resident Wellbeing
Curriculum
With 20 weeks of electives and broad exposure to various community needs, you will have a greater opportunity to follow your passions and shape your career.
